Limited submissions for industrial-use mixtures

Direct answer: If a mixture is placed on the market for industrial use only (not consumer, not professional), you may make a limited submission: composition at the level of the SDS rather than full composition, provided you give a telephone number and email where poison centres can obtain the full composition at any time, 24 hours a day.

Conditions

  • Use type is industrial only. One consumer or professional use anywhere in the EU removes the option.
  • An emergency contact that can provide the full formulation immediately is included in the dossier.
  • Everything else (classification, toxicology, UFI, packaging, category) is required as in a standard submission.

When to prefer a standard submission anyway

If the product may later be sold to professionals, or if staffing a 24-hour contact is harder than disclosing the composition. Many companies find the standard submission simpler.

Common failure

Declaring a limited submission while the product information lists professional or consumer use. The portal rejects it.
