PCN Ready.

ECHA Submission Portal, step by step

Direct answer: Create an ECHA Account, register your company as a legal entity, prepare a dossier (online in IUCLID Cloud or by uploading an .i6z file), submit it in the ECHA Submission Portal, and read the submission report. The notification counts as made when the report shows the dossier was received by each selected member state.

1. ECHA Account and legal entity

Create an account at ECHA Accounts, verify your email, then create a legal entity with your company's exact legal name, address and VAT number. The legal entity on the account must match the submitter in the dossier, or the portal refuses the submission before it looks at anything else.

2. Prepare the dossier

Two routes:

  • Online: build the dossier field by field in IUCLID Cloud. Validation happens only when you submit, so errors show up late.
  • Upload: prepare the .i6z file outside the portal (this is what PCN Ready produces) and upload it.

Either way, run the Validation Assistant in IUCLID before submitting; it applies most of the same rules the portal will apply.

3. Submit

In the Submission Portal, choose the dossier, confirm the countries, and submit. A submission report appears with a status per country. "Successful" means on file; "Failed" names the rule that tripped. Warnings do not block but should be fixed with an update.

4. Keep the record

Save the submission number, the PCN number and the UFI with the product. Updates reference the previous PCN number, so you will need it.

Time

First time through, including account setup, plan a full day per product. With a prepared file, 15–30 minutes.
